Medieval towers of Viterbo with Studio Due

The project:
The medieval walls of Viterbo, a historic heritage of great value, symbolize the city and are a testament to past centuries. These imposing walls, dating back to the 13th century, have witnessed battles, stories, and transformations. However, the beauty and charm of these ancient structures are not always visible at their best, especially during the night. To highlight their grandeur, an ambitious lighting project was undertaken, designed by Studio Due.

The solution:
To meet the needs of enhancing the historical heritage without compromising its integrity, Studio Due chose the Archibar i-80 M Plug-In 90cm, an innovative product designed to fit perfectly into historical and architectural contexts such as the walls of Viterbo.

Technology and Design:
The Archibar I-80 M Plug-In stands out as the ideal solution for such a project, combining high performance with elegant design. The product was chosen for its 5° optics, which allow for a precise and concentrated beam of light, perfect for highlighting the heights of the medieval towers. The focused lighting helps accentuate every architectural detail, creating a striking visual effect without altering the original appearance of the walls.
The custom lengths of the Archibar I-80 M were tailored to the different sections of the walls, ensuring even light distribution along the entire surface, from the base to the highest points of the towers. In this way, the lighting is uniformly distributed, without shadows, elegantly showcasing the structure. The custom measures are 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 cm.
The product uses a warm light at 2700K, which blends perfectly with the material of the walls, creating an inviting and atmospheric effect that highlights historical details without altering their natural beauty. The choice of warm light was crucial to provide a soft illumination that accentuates the medieval texture of the stones, bringing out their character and patina.
