Claypaky Lights Up the Arts: From Swiss Dance Premiere to Finland’s Eurovision Finale

Claypaky Fixtures Support World Premiere of “Oresteia” by The St. Gallen Dance Company in Switzerland

Basel-based Lighting and Scenic Designer Lukas Marian selected Claypaky Tambora Batten Squares and Sinfonya Profile 600 fixtures for the world premiere of Oresteia, a dance production by Frank Fannar Pedersen and Javier Rodriguez Cobos with the St. Gallen Dance Company at Konzert & Theater St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Inspired by the Greek tragedy trilogy by Aeschylus, the show features immersive lighting and scenography. A central 8-meter truss ring with 19 Tambora units in single-pixel mode, a 6-meter pole with 17 wash fixtures, large movable stair structures, projections, and a water sprinkler system all contribute to a striking visual experience.

Marian praised the Tambora units for their strength, versatility, and creative potential, while the Sinfonya Profile 600s, placed both over the audience and in the flyhouse, added depth with their excellent cold-white color range.


Claypaky Fixtures Light Up Finland’s UMK 2025 Finale to Choose Eurovision Song Contest Participant

A large number of Claypaky Sharpys and Tambora Batten Squares lit up the UMK 2025 final—the Finnish qualifier for the Eurovision Song Contest—held at Nokia Arena in Tampere on February 8. The event, broadcast by Yle, featured six performances to select Finland’s Eurovision entry for Basel.

Lighting Designer Pekka Martti, alongside Creative Director Ari Levela of MOBB Helsinki, used 68 Sharpys and 46 Tambora Battens for the two-hour show. Sharpys provided dramatic aerial effects and 360° audience shots, while Tambora Battens were key for shadow projection on semi-transparent drapes and dynamic lighting effects throughout the performances. Martti praised their sharp output, color quality, and versatility across multiple uses on stage.
