Robert Juliat success at PLASA London with Live Technology
Robert Juliat enjoyed a successful and very busy time at PLASA, London, where it exhibited on the stand of its exclusive UK distributor, Live Technology.
The RJ Bizet range of LED profiles and Fresnels were on show in pride of place, alongside the Tristan LED followspot and SpotMe followspot tracking system.
Bizet 670SX profile spot is a range of powerful white LED spots which provides the perfect LED alternative to the famous RJ 700SX 2kW Series. Designed for front of house applications, with a choice of 3 zoom ranges, Bizet is available in tunable white (500W) or fixed cool white (600W). It ensures superior colour rendering, boasting a CRI of 96-98 and a TM30 Rf of 94-96, and delivers high quality whites and precision lighting.
All RJ 600SX Series and 700SX Series lens tubes are fully compatible with Bizet lamp houses making Bizet an interesting option for transitioning existing tungsten rigs to LED.
Bizet 370LF Fresnel has an output equivalent to a 2K tungsten fixture, and, in a Robert Juliat first, is available with motorized focus control option. Unlike conventional systems, the Fresnel lens of the Bizet is fixed while the LED source module is mobile and motorized, ensuring precision and durability in operation. Of equal importance, Bizet Fresnel features a 500W tunable white LED source which is used at full power whatever the colour temperature chosen, guaranteeing high quality whites.
On the followspot front, Tristan was also available for close examination, receiving much praise in London.
Tristan is a long-throw 825W LED 7° - 14.5° model, and presents a compact and powerful upgrade that replace Robert Juliat’s traditional 1800W MSR followspot. It is available as a cool white (6500K) or variable white (2700K to 6500K) model and offers a significant increase in output and efficiency.
New to Tristan are a unique motorised, fully-closing iris which enables the creation and storage of iris presets for fast cues, as well as optional remote display and one-function remote controllers. The variable white source offers greater versatility and eliminates the need for physical colour correction filters, simplifying set up and reducing consumable costs. The colour temperature can be controlled remotely from the console allowing real-time adjustments.
The latest LED protagonist in Robert Juliat’s legendary Compact followspot range, Tristan will soon be joined by the arrival of his smaller sibling, Morgane, later this year! Morgane will offer the same engine and feature set, but with 13-24° optics, ideal for shorter-throw applications.
SpotMe, Robert Juliat’s user-friendly 3D followspot tracking device was also on display. Featuring fast and easy set-up, SpotMe is able to produce tracking information in real-time with no emitters or cameras.
“We were really pleased with the response to the Robert Juliat products during the show,” says Live Technology’s Head of Lighting, Joshua Wakley. “There was intense interest in SpotMe given that it will be in use on an eagerly-anticipated upcoming production in the West End. Tristan has now become the go-to LED replacement followspot for mid-size theatres, and our biggest-selling followspot. We also had fantastic feedback on the Bizet range as more and more people become aware of it as a viable LED replacement for traditional 2kW tungsten fixtures, with great CRI and high TM values.”
